"Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray."
Proverbs 22:6 (New Living Translation)
Life is full of difficult questions. |
Who we become depends upon the answers we seek. |
We begin to ask questions as children, but the really big questions stick with us for our entire lives. As adults, we often feel frustrated by answers too small to build a life upon and by questions that seem too big to answer all by ourselves. Where can we even begin to look for the answers we need?
Where faith seeks understanding.
At Christ Presbyterian Church, we believe that the answers to the truly important questions of life are found through a relationship with the living God, who created us and loves us. Surveys report that most people believe that there is a God, but that the majority do not know what a relationship with God could mean for their lives. How can anyone come to know God, whom they have never seen?
We believe that by living as a community formed by the Bible's testimony to the Word of God made flesh, Jesus Christ, God's Holy Spirit leads us to know God and answer God's call to live lives of love, forgiveness and justice. The Bible contains meaning and mystery beyond the printed words. Empowered by God's Holy Spirit, we engage continually in biblical exploration in community. We learn from biblical scholarship and value the insights and experiences of people of diverse cultures, life situations, and ages. We believe that God's grace frees us to ask questions, to doubt and to believe.
We invite you to explore God's Word with us
The core of our Christian Education program is our Sunday School. Each Sunday, from September through June, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m., children and adults gather together in small groups in our Christian Education Building to grow in their understanding of how God's Word is relevant to their lives. We have groups for all ages from Preschool to Adult.
Other opportunities to enrich our knowledge of God are offered throughout the year. Please contact us in order to receive further information about these opportunities to grow in knowledge and in faith.
